The wait is over for our East Point Academy students who collected their GCSE results from school this morning. Many students were waiting eagerly before the school opened and attended with friends and family who shared in their success.

Collectively, 61% of pupils achieved grades 9-4 in both English and maths – 44% were grades 9-5. Another fantastic year for the students of our town and school.

The success in these results enables our students to follow their dream career paths and if they would like to, pursue studying at A-Level or go on to apprenticeships.

Pete Seadon, Principal at East Point Academy said:

“Congratulations to the students of East Point Academy receiving their GCSE results today. The outcomes reflect their hard work and effort, of which we are massively proud of. Thank you to their families, the wider community, and our fantastic staff for their continued commitment and support. We wish the students every success in their next steps.”

But don’t take our word for it, this is what our students think:

Josue who recieved 2 grade 8s and 3 grade 7s said, “I am really pleased with these exam results, they mean I will get on the course I want to follow at East Norfolk Sixth-Form.”

Darci, who received 1 grade 9s, 1 grade 8s and a 3 grade 7s said: “I am so happy with these results.”

Emma, who achieved 1 grade 9 and 4 grade 7s said, “I am really pleased – the hard work has certainly paid off!”

Grade information

*How the GCSE 9-1 scale compares to the old A*-G scale:

Grades 9-7 = A*-A. Grades 6-4 = B-C. Grades 9-4 = A*-C

The government publishes the percentage of pupils who achieve grade 5 or above in both English and maths.
